Thank you Paul and Pete

Thank you for the magnificent donation!

An amazing cycle ride and an amazing donation

We were thrilled when Paul Sugden got in touch to say that he and his friend Pete were going to cycle the full length of Portugal to raise funds for Age UK Northamptonshire.  The intrepid pair set off in October and covered over 650 miles that included a total ascent of more than 50,000 ft.

The final total raised for Age UK Northamptonshire was a magnificent £1,454 (£1,375 shows on the cheque).  Roger Harris and Emma Atkins, along with Brenda and Maureen, were thrilled to be presented with the "large cheque" at our day centre in Kettering in November.  Paul said “I didn’t realise the money I raised could do so much.”

Before they left Paul had said "It will be quite hot and quite a challenge, but we're doing it for such a worthwhile cause."

Congratulations on finishing!

A tired but happy Pete and Paul enjoy a well-earned rest at the end of the mammoth cycle ride.

Cycling the full length of Portugal

The weather was not always kind to our fundraising cyclists, and there were a few dramas along the way, but they kept going and were determined to reach their goal.
