Thank you Caritas Northampton
Age UK Northamptonshire is delighted to support Caritas Northampton's Love Christmas campaign by distributing their generous gifts to local older people. Sales & Marketing Manager Roger Harris [pictured above with Nyta Hirons of Caritas Northampton] was delighted to pick up the bags last week.
Our Volunteer Coordinator Caroline Roy says "It has been magical having the opportunity to visit some of our Telephone Befriending Service clients and to share the most wonderful gift bags with them."
We are grateful to everyone who has kindly donated to the Love Christmas campaign, which is part of the Northampton Roman Catholic Diocese. All the gift bags they have passed to us are being distributed in the local community, to vulnerable older people who are perhaps not expecting to see friends and relatives this Christmas. Here are some of the people who are happy to have their photographs featured and would like to say their own personal thank you.
Marion says “I thank Becki very much. I enjoy her calls and am so touched to receive a gift from you all.”
Robert says “Gill has been a good friend and I enjoy talking to her every week - we share each other’s thoughts. Age UK Northamptonshire have been really good to me over the past few years. I thank you all.”
Patricia says “Lots of thanks to Kelly, my telephone befriender, it’s so nice to hear from her each week. Thank you for the lovely gifts.”
Susan says “Becky means the world to me. She has a great listening ear and has helped me no end as I’ve been through a lot. I really appreciate her calls, she’s so lovely to me.”
Jannett says “Firstly, thank you for the gifts. Janet calls me on the phone every week and always leaves me a message if I’m not available. Over time we have shared more and more together – I love that and really enjoy her calls."
Michael says “Janet is a lovely lady to speak to. She’s very caring, understanding and I look forward to her calls – it’s one of the highlights of my week.”
