A jam-packed month

A festive message from day centre manager, Wendie
"What a busy December we have had at The William and Patricia Venton Centre. Our day care clients have had a jam-packed month of Christmas crafts, Christmas dinners, entertainment, lots of dancing and lots of sing-a-longs.
Early in December we were visited by the Barry Road Primary School choir. What an absolute treat that was. St Giles Church came along to do two church services for us. We were all delighted to welcome them back.
Steve O got the party month started with his festive songs to get everyone in the party mood. Welcome back to Bob Hutton who continued the festivities with his ukulele and we all sang along to some familiar old songs, Sheila and Stuart kept the party going with some fantastic jazz and swing songs, Carmelia Marques had everyone up dancing to some brilliant party songs, from ABBA to Bob Marley.
We have worked flat out to make sure it was a December To Remember for all our day care clients. This year we’ve been taking Selfies, making tree decorations, singing and dancing and had a Jolly, Jolly Christmas. It’s true what they say - Christmas truly is the best time of the year!
Naturally Santa paid us a visit. Harwoods Estate Agents in Wellingborough donated some wonderful gifts, as did the generous customers of Dunelm in Wellingborough. We say a special thank you to the children of Preston Hedges Primary School who wrapped and delivered presents for our day care clients. Thank you to all of you for such kind donations, we are all so grateful."
Fred and John are thrilled with the unexpected Christmas presents.
Maggie loves joining in the festive fun and says thank you for the kind thought.
Jim and Bernice enjoy spending time with friends at this time of year.
Coming to our day centre means Geoffrey doesn't miss out on the festivities.
Barry and Michael love getting presents. And what could be better than spending the day in good company!
"And Age UK Northamptonshire does not forget its fabulous volunteers at Christmas. All our day care volunteers were presented with a gift to show how truly grateful we are for the precious and valuable time they spare for us. We cannot thank you all enough! You are all amazing!
We also say a big thank you to the many students who join us on placement. They have been an asset to the team, thank you for your help.
We are all exhausted and looking forward to a break but have enjoyed every single second and of it. Our clients mean the absolute world to us all and we wouldn’t want it any other way. We hope you all have an AMAZING festive season, and we look forward to more fun, laughter, new friendships and, of course, more…silliness in 2025."
Please call us on 01604 611200 if you'd like to come to any of our three day centres.
