March Charity Bake-Off

Thank you to our impartial judges who stepped up to the plate!
We are enormously grateful to Deputy Lieutenant of Northamptonshire John Griffiths-Elsden and his lovely mother Joy for agreeing to judge the entries in our staff 2023 Charity Bake-Off. They gamely managed the difficult task of tasting and judging all the entries at our William and Patricia Venton Centre on Wednesday 1st March. It is a highly demanding role that requires the utmost integrity and impartiality, which they managed admirably.
Bake-Off competitions are a great way to bring people together and have a lot of fun. They are also a fantastic way to raise funds for charity.
Congratulations to Emma [pictured above with John], whose impressive Victoria sponge with winter fruits won first prize and to Fran who was the runner-up with a delicious coffee-cream sponge cake. "It's a very personal choice, as I usually prefer savoury, but the cakes were absolutely delicious," said John. Special mention must be given to Nicky for her magnificent ten-egg, Winnie the Pooh hunny pot, pictured below with John and event organiser Pam.
Why not organise your own fundraising Bake-Off for us! We'd be delighted to hear from you and every penny raised helps us support local older people. Please get in touch.
