Volunteers Christmas Celebration

It's time to say thank you
The disruption caused by the coronavirus pandemic has meant that for the past couple of years we have not been able to thank our magnificent volunteers in our customary way, with a special party. It is important that their vital support is acknowledged and that we are able to thank them properly for everything they do for older people in the county.
On Friday 9th December our Volunteers Coordinator Caroline Roy organised a special Christmas Celebration in Higham Ferrers that all our volunteers were invited to attend. Guests were welcomed on arrival with a glass of Bucks Fizz and a delicious festive buffet. They then enjoyed a delightful performance of Christmas carols by the Higham Ferrers Junior School Choir. What a treat!
Caroline told the choir “You brought smiles to all our faces, got everyone into the festive spirit and had everyone singing along! We cannot thank the children, staff and school enough. What well behaved pupils you have there.”
Paul Bertin, our Chair of Trustees, expressed his thanks to all our volunteers, for the time and dedication they each give to Age UK Northamptonshire. After we’d finished the delicious party food we moved on to a fantastic fun quiz and free raffle!
Caroline would like to add her thanks to “our simply brilliant volunteers” and also to thank Market Square Bakery and Moulton Community Centre for the delicious spread, along with special thanks to Tesco Superstore in Wellingborough, Asda in Rushden, June Roy, our trustee Anne Battom and colleague Kathy Smith for the generous donations of raffle prizes. We couldn’t have done it without you.
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year. We hope to see you all again next year.
