Our Services Manager and her team were delighted to take delivery of 70 Christmas gift parcels.
On Wednesday 19th December Mo and Shazeen Robson of the Spencer Community Trust FC kindly brought the gift wrapped parcels to Age UK Northamptonshire’s Billing Road office so that we can give them to our more vulnerable clients. We will also be giving the festive goodies to older people living in Northamptonshire who we know will not be expecting any Christmas presents this year. Services Manager Caroline Gooch says "There is a lot of goodwill around at this time of year and we are delighted to ensure the Spencer Community Trust FC's generosity reaches the people who need it most."
Every Christmas parcel contains a hat, scarf, bar of chocolate and shower gel and will be much appreciated by everyone who receives one. All the items have been donated by members, friends and family connected to the Spencer Community Trust FC, to bring a little festive cheer and to let people know they have not been forgotten.
"Our Community sports club has been volunteering and donating for the last six months to feed the homeless and vulnerable, and with Christmas fast approaching we appreciate it is a time of year that can be hard on those who don’t have somewhere to go or people to spend time with" says Mo Robson.
Staff and volunteers in Age UK Northamptonshire will be taking these parcels out to older people living across Northamptonshire in good time for Christmas. Thank you to everyone who has supported this practical and heartwarming gesture.
