Giving Tuesday 2023
Published on 14 November 2023 10:59 AM
Tuesday 29th November is Giving Tuesday - a day that encourages people to give back to others. Over the last ten years, Giving Tuesday has grown into a global movement that inspires millions of people around the globe to collaborate and celebrate giving.
Age UK Norfolk is asking you to consider giving today to support our work in improving later life and making Norfolk a great place to grow older. There are approximately 412,000 people aged 50+ in Norfolk and North Norfolk has the highest population of older people in the whole country!
We are a charity with over 75 years’ experience dedicated to supporting older people, and the demand for our services is only increasing – particularly as we face the current cost of living crisis. Last year we:
- Received over 11,000 calls to our advice line
- We assisted clients in claiming £4.4m in welfare benefits
- Made over 14,700 telephone befriending calls
- Provided 148 hours of digital inclusion support
- Supported an average of 194 clients with money matters and advocacy services
