"It was fantastic to see people of different generations come together to enjoy the activities and we cannot thank Notcutts enough for supporting us and raising funds for us this year.”
Michelle Jay, Fundraising Officer
On Tuesday 18th September, Notcutts garden centre in Norwich hosted a pop-up dementia café in aid of Age UK Norfolk, as they are supporting us as their charity of the year. Around 40 volunteers and people living with dementia and their carers attended the event from our three Pabulum dementia cafes based in Diss, Costessey and Horstead.
The group enjoyed refreshments including homemade scones, a bulb planting activity which saw café members gifted with daffodil bulbs to take home with them and a visit to the pet centre to meet the animals, all organised by staff in the store.
Richard Greenacre, Manager of Notcutts in Norwich, said, “It was an absolute pleasure to welcome the members of Age UK Norfolk’s Pabulum dementia cafes to join us for what proved to an enjoyable afternoon for everyone involved. We’re delighted to have been able to provide the group with a fun trip out as part of our on-going support of the charity this year.”
Age UK Norfolk’s Fundraising Officer, Michelle Jay, thanked the team at Notcutts for their support, saying: “The team at Notcutts have been wonderful, they really looked after us on the day and made us feel welcome. It was fantastic to see people of different generations come together to enjoy the activities and we cannot thank Notcutts enough for supporting us and raising funds for us this year.”
