Age UK Norfolk is leading a new pilot partnership with Age Scotland to offer its age-inclusive workplace training programmes to businesses in Norfolk. The six-month pilot, beginning in April, will provide local businesses with access to online and in-person workshops designed to tackle ageism in the workplace.
The workshops, developed by Age Scotland, focus on key topics such as menopause awareness, age-friendly customer service, dementia awareness, age-inclusive leadership, and tackling unconscious bias. These sessions aim to create more inclusive workplaces for people of all ages.
Ann Donkin, Chief Executive of Age UK Norfolk, said:
“We are excited to collaborate with Age Scotland to deliver age-friendly training to local organisations. This partnership reflects our commitment to ensuring Norfolk remains an inclusive and supportive community for older people to live, work, and thrive.
“By equipping local businesses with the tools to create age-friendly environments, we aim to foster a culture where older residents are respected, valued, and empowered. This initiative will have a positive, lasting impact on our community, and we are proud to take the lead in delivering these essential training sessions across Norfolk.”
Katherine Crawford, Chief Executive of Age Scotland, commented:
“We are delighted to partner with Age UK Norfolk to extend the reach of our age-inclusive workshops to East Anglia. Ensuring workplaces are age-inclusive is a vital part of our mission, and we’re pleased to offer these important sessions outside of Scotland for the first time.
“We look forward to helping businesses in Norfolk and beyond create more age-friendly work environments, and we are excited to see the impact this programme will have.”
