Age UK Mid Mersey calls on you to get knitting for The Big Knit 2025!

Age UK Mid Mersey is calling on knitters to pick up their needles and get involved in this year’s Big Knit campaign! By knitting or crocheting tiny hats for Innocent smoothie bottles, you’ll be helping to raise vital funds to support older people in your local community.

For every little hat you make, Innocent Drinks will donate 25p to Age UK Mid Mersey. These funds go directly towards providing crucial services, offering warmth, companionship, and practical support to older people who need it most—especially during the colder months.

How You Can Get Involved

It’s easy to take part!

• Knit or crochet mini hats using our free patterns, available here.

• Send or drop off your finished hats to either:  Age UK Mid Mersey, 44 Church Street, Runcorn, WA7 1LR OR Age UK Mid Mersey, The Mansion House, Victoria Park, City Road, St Helens, WA10 2UE before 1st July 2025.

• Spread the word - encourage friends, family, and local knitting groups to join in by sharing The Big Knit campaign on social media.

• If you don't want to knit - you can still help us out by donating wool by dropping it off at one of our addresses above, or you can donate directly to us in person or via our donation links here.

All the little hats collected will be placed on Innocent smoothie bottles and sold in stores nationwide, helping to raise awareness and much-needed funds for older people facing isolation and hardship - so you might spot yours in stores soon!
