Van Fundraiser 2024

Published on 06 August 2024 02:10 PM

I am writing to launch Age UK Manchester’s new fundraising campaign!

We are fundraising to buy a new van for our Home from Hospital (HfH) service. HfH helps isolated older Mancunians who have been discharged from hospital, providing essentials such as food parcels, and addresses social isolation through engaging activity groups.

The service helps to prevent older people being stuck in hospital for longer than they need to and offers support and companionship.

We aim to raise £5000 by the end of October, as the need for the van is urgent.
A working van is essential to the service. A reliable van helps us to move specialist medical equipment to older peoples’ homes, deliver donated white goods and more.

Our current van breaks down frequently. This has cost the charity money, delays us helping people, and wastes a lot of precious time in a very busy schedule.

A new van will help us to reach out to more older people, and help them live a better life with the support that they need.

Home from Hospital is a lifeline for many older people, offering them the support and companionship they need during a difficult time.

Any contributions, no matter how big or small, will help us to help Manchester's older people.

If you are not in a position to donate, sharing this post and sharing our campaign will be a massive help!
