In 2014 Age UK London and UK Power Networks bring additional energy advice and support to thousands of older people across London.
Age UK London held 12 local events across the capital aimed at the 65+ age group – with a particular focus on those who are vulnerable and/or isolated.
The project, ‘Energy Efficiency in Later Life’ allowed Age UK London to provide additional energy efficiency advice and money saving tips to thousands of older people, and help address fuel poverty in the city.
UK Power Networks was pleased to fund this Age UK London project, with a £9,800 grant from its Power of Giving Fund.
UK Power Networks delivers electricity to eight million people in London, the East of England and the South East. Through the fund, it aims to contribute to community projects that enhance energy efficiency and reduce fuel poverty.
The Power of Giving grant also enabled Age UK London to run two workshops for older people’s organisations, to spread energy efficiency knowledge and awareness and empower people to reduce their fuel bills.
