The Full Heart at the Brandenburg Choral Festival

The Brandenburg Choral Festival of London offers you the chance to see The Ionian Singers perform The Full Heart - a collection of European musical treasures.

The Ionian Singers, with their conductor Timothy Salter, will perform a programme of pieces from Germany, England and Scandinavia.

Rheinberger’s serene Abendlied is in company with choral songs by Brahms and two of Wolf’s Geistliche Lieder. Grieg’s Ave Maris stella and the Danish composer Lange-Müller’s Tre Madonnasange resonate with the northern origins of St Clement Danes.

For the English representation, two seldom-heard songs by Coleridge-Taylor and Warlock’s The Full Heart are complemented by contemporary works from Alan Bullard (Three poems of W.B.Yeats) and Timothy Salter (Invida Aetas – Fragments from Horace). Two of Salter’s popular English folk-song arrangements complete the programme.

The Brandenburg Choral Festival of London exists as a platform for choirs to perform in Central London venues. It is London's biggest and broadest celebration of all things choral - and we mean everything! Over the year we bring together choirs and vocal ensembles of different shapes and sizes, and from every musical background - classical and jazz, a cappella or accompanied, gospel, male voice, choral scholars, community choirs, and a whole lot more besides!
