Christmas Fete and Lunch a huge success!

On Thursday 14th December we held our Christmas Fete followed by a free Christmas Lunch for 50 of our clients at Horncastle Community Centre. It was fantastic to be able to spread a little Christmas cheer and to see the huge smiles of everyone getting into the festive spirit.
We raised over £1000 which is a fantastic achievement for our small local charity - all of this money will be used to support older people in our area.
We couldn't have done it without the help of local businesses, volunteers, our trustees and staff who have so generously given their time and/ or money to support older people in our area.
Our Christmas Fete was very kindly sponsored by Laurels Service Station, who provided all the refreshments and cakes along with three fantastic volunteers to help serve on the day. Horncastle Town Council, generously donated £500 and Laurels Service Station also donated £100 towards the cost of our Christmas Lunch and carol singing for 50 of our clients.
A huge thank you to Joe and Cameron from National Grid UK Viking Link Project, who volunteered their time to help and also to the lovely Sue who took a day off work to volunteer for us. Thank you also to Queen Elizabeth Grammar School students and staff, who helped with our Fete and also sang beautiful Christmas Carols to entertain our clients during and after lunch - you were a credit to your school. Last but not least, thank you very much to Dunmore Catering for a fantastic meal - many compliments were received.
Finally, we have received some lovely comments from our clients about their lunch:
"I don’t really see anyone over Christmas, so it was a treat to be with so many people and have such a marvelous lunch."
"I don’t know what I did to deserve being here today, but it really picked me up – you all do such amazing work."
"I was really nervous about coming as I didn’t know anyone, but I had such a lovely time – it's made my Christmas."
Merry Christmas
