Staff & Volunteer Awards a huge success

We recently held our annual Staff and Volunteer Awards night to celebrate members of staff and volunteers, who have gone ‘above and beyond’ to support older people.
The event, which has been on hold since before Covid, took place at the Admiral Rodney Hotel in Horncastle, with staff, volunteers and Trustees celebrating the valuable contribution made to the work of the charity in supporting older people in local communities.
Among the guests invited were Age UK Lindsey Trustees, Claire Parker-Robson, Chair of Age UK Lindsey and a Senior Partner at one of the events sponsors Wilkin Chapman Solicitors and Claire Markham, Trustee and Director at FH Manning also one of the events sponsors. Other Trustees included Cllr Owen Bierley, Rose Dobbs and Annamarie Mullan.
Our special guest on the night was Ella Lise Wright, the daughter of Peter Wright, who was President of the charity until his death and also one of the founders of the charity. Ella presented The Peter Wright Award for Outstanding Contribution of a Volunteer, an award named after her father, with winner Carol Arundel a volunteer from Tattershall Shop.
Other winners included; The Chairperson’s Award for a New Volunteer; Wendy Harvey, Volunteer Team of the Year sponsored by Wilkin Chapman Solicitors; the Befriending Volunteer Team, Employee Team of the Year; the Mobile Sales Assistants Team, The Award for Best Innovative Idea; Janet Apollo, The Award for Outstanding Fundraising; Ann Moncaster, The Award for Best Green Initiative; Zofia Centala, The Award for Customer Service Excellence, sponsored by F H Manning Financial Services Ltd; Abi Middleton and Mark Webster, Employee of the Year Award; Sarah Roberts John Turner Shield for Shop of the Year; Woodhall Spa Shop. Long Service Awards were also given out on the night to staff and volunteers who have been with the charity for 5 and 10 years.
Chief Executive Officer, Andy Storer, said: “Our Awards Night is a great way to celebrate the valuable contributions, which have been made by individuals and teams for Age UK Lindsey. We hope that they will show that the work staff and volunteers do is valued and appreciated, and I felt very proud to celebrate the work of our charity and those involved.”
