We Are Undefeatable

Published on 18 August 2022 01:32 PM

We Are Undefeatable, the campaign that supports and encourages people living with long-term health conditions to find ways to move more, is back with a new summer campaign that helps you work with your condition, not against it.

Being ‘Undefeatable’ is understanding that how you feel changes from day-to-day and that everybody’s situation is unique. Moving more when you can is just as important as accepting when you can’t. Every movement can enable more and is worth celebrating, no matter how small it might seem to someone else.

Ila’s Story

Ila is in her seventies and has osteoporosis, a kidney condition and a lung condition and found that staying active makes her feel “on top of the world”.

Ila does basic exercises around the home, including climbing the stairs, lifting tin cans, and marching on the spot. She’s had to swap some activities, like running, for less intense options, like walking, but nonetheless finds that she gets a boost of energy and confidence from it.

One of the things she’s liked most is the Zumba and Inclusive dance routines she’s been doing with her daughters in the back garden but has also found online classes enjoyable as she has met new people from across the country who all share her love for dance and moving more.
