Coronavirus Update 8th April

Age UK Lindsey is an independent, rural charity, covering an area of 1454 square miles.
Across our area of benefit, (the council districts of East Lindsey, West Lindsey and North Lincolnshire), 24% - or 95,587 people - are aged 65 or over, compared to the national average of just 18%. With many of our services being aimed at anyone over 50, this increases our reach to potentially 45% of the local population.
In order to continue providing the best help to those who need it most, during this difficult time, we are proactively concentrating our efforts in identifying need, and signposting people to support services, businesses and community groups, local to where they live. This enables us to help more people across a wider area, and for the most vulnerable people to receive help more quickly than we could otherwise provide, given the resources that we have. Many of our staff and volunteers are themselves in vulnerable groups and are therefore self-isolating. We continue to make regular well-being checks by telephone, not just upon our existing clients, but people newly identified as being at risk, as well as our staff and our volunteers.
Following the closure of our ten charity shops, our income has been decimated. Therefore, we are regularly reviewing how best to continue providing support during the current crisis, whilst hopefully ensuring the future sustainability of our charity. 2021 will be Age UK Lindsey's 30th anniversary. We want to still be supporting you then, as we are now.
