We understand that, for some older people, using technology can be daunting and it can be difficult to know where to start. However, building your confidence and learning how to use technology can open so many doors, from a new way to communicate with family and friends, to accessing vital services that are becoming increasingly ‘digital first’.
Digital Champions is an exciting new programme from Age UK Lincoln and South Lincolnshire. It aims to provide local older people with the technology, skills and confidence, to be able to use devices (such as tablets, smart phones and computers), to browse the internet and get the most from digital services.

How our Digital Champions can help

Tea & Tech Group Sessions
Through the Digital Champion Programme, we aim to tackle digital exclusion by offering free group sessions with our Digital Champions who will tailor their support to your needs.
Perhaps you would like to know how to complete your shopping or banking online, use your gadget (tablet, smartphone, or laptop) more efficiently or just know how to video call your family.

Tablet Loan Scheme
Are you interested in exploring what the internet has to offer but don’t have the technology to do so? Let us help you achieve this.
We can loan a tablet computer and internet connection for 6 – 8 weeks along with support from our Digital Champions to help you make the most of the internet, learn new skills and gain confidence. This free service will be tailored to support your needs.

One to One Digital Sessions
These one-hour sessions are available in Lincoln and Boston and give you dedicated time with our experts to teach you specific skills at your pace. Bring your device and we can help to set it up for you and guide you to learn new skills and tailor the support to suit your needs.
One to One Digital Sessions are £5 each.
