We’re working in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Society to deliver the Lewisham Dementia Support Service.

What are we doing?

Age UK Lewisham and Southwark are working in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Society to deliver the Lewisham Dementia Support Service. We are delivering new and exciting dementia friendly activities in Lewisham.

Trained professions lead the following sessions:
• Arts and Crafts sessions
• Music and Movement sessions
• Singing for the Brain sessions

Who is it for?

The sessions are available to Lewisham residents with a dementia diagnosis and their carers, giving everyone the chance to let out their artistic side, show off their rhythm and relax in good company and a welcoming environment.

Referral criteria:
• Must have a diagnosis of dementia
• Must be a Lewisham resident
• Must be able to manage personal care independently (or be accompanied by a carer if you require support)
• Must be accompanied by a carer or volunteer if you have additional needs (e.g. may wander or require one to one support)
