Menders Club break in
Published on 19 September 2017 10:27 AM
Age UK Lewisham and Southwark's Communities Living Well project's Menders' Club suffered a break in to their Peckham premises on September 18th.
The group was formed to give a much needed place to socialise and hone and use their DIY skills, and now boasts over 20 regular members, helping to combat social isolation, which can be a particular issue for older men.
Thieves stole around £2,000 worth of donated tools, seriously compromising the good work of the club. Age UK Lewisham and Southwark and Menders' club are now seeking donations of tools to replace those that have been taken. Anyone with items to donate should contact living.well@ageuklands.org.uk
Menders Club runs on Fridays and Saturdays between 11am and 1pm. Any older men interested in joining can go along to 122 Pechkam Hil Street during those times.
