Befriending Volunteer
To visit clients who may be experiencing isolation and loneliness and offer support and companionship. You will also support and encourage individuals to participate in the community. The role can be based across Leicester City, County, and Rutland.
Benefit Application Form Volunteer (Dementia Support Service)
This volunteering role is to support the I&A Dementia Support Service (DSS) Benefits Advisor who is responsible for providing benefit advice to clients 18+ who have a formal diagnosis of dementia, their families, and carers.
Re-use Centre Shop Volunteer
Volunteers required assisting customers, principally members of the public, to make purchases of clothes and miscellaneous items donated to the charity in a shop setting. You must be able to act as shop cashier as well as maintain and assist in stock control. Major tasks include preparing donated items for sale, which may consist of sorting and steam pressing clothing, washing, and cleaning items of bric-a-brac, polishing furniture, and preparing books.
Carers Support Volunteer
A volunteer is required to support the work of the information and advice worker in providing general support to Carers.
Group Support Volunteer (Dementia Support Service)
To assist staff in the delivery of groups to people affected by dementia and carers
Day Clubs Volunteer
We are looking for volunteers to help our Day Club Organisers provide a welcoming, interactive, engaging and fun day out in one of our community Day Club venues. We offer high quality day care provision for older people with care needs, dementia, mental health issues and adults with learning disabilities. The role involves supporting planned games and activities, excursions, serving lunch and refreshments. This role does not include providing personal care.
Many of our Day Clubs Volunteers also act as a Passenger Assistant, for which you would also assist club members attend our day centres via Age UK Transport. This involves assisting the Minibus driver in collecting and returning members from their residence.
Alternatively volunteers can do the Passenger Assistant role only. Please see the two role descriptions below for more information.
Bucket Collectors
We are looking for Volunteers to help raise money for the charity by standing inside/outside buildings with a collection bucket.
Shop Assistant

You must be able to act as shop cashier as well as maintain and assist in stock control. Major tasks include preparing donated items for sale, which may consist of sorting and steam pressing clothing, washing and cleaning items of bric-a-brac, polishing furniture and preparing books.
Warehouse Assistant
We need volunteers to help assist customers, principally members of the public, to make purchases of furniture and miscellaneous items donated to the charity in a warehouse setting. You must be able to act as shop cashier as well as maintain and assist in stock control. Major tasks include preparing donated items for sale, which may consist of sorting, cleaning, and polishing furniture.
Catering Assistant
We are looking for volunteers to help on various days and different times in our ‘Seasons Restaurant,’ at Clarence House. Duties include; food preparation, pot washing, clearing tables, and helping customers. Experience not needed, but good communication skills, and a friendly nature is required.
