We’re seeking a Deputy Retail Manager to join our dynamic team and help manage our expansive flagship store, which spans over 5,000 square feet. Customers have a vast space to explore and shop, all proceeds directly fund vital community programs.

Role Overview:

As the Deputy Retail Manager, you will be an essential part of the management team, assisting the Retail Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operation of the store. You will play a key role in driving store performance, enhancing the customer experience, and ensuring that the store runs efficiently and profitably. You will also support a team of volunteers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operations Management: Assist in managing all aspects of store operations, including stock management, visual merchandising, and maintaining high store standards.
  • Customer Experience: Ensure customers receive exceptional service by leading by example and implementing best practices in customer interaction.
  • Sales & Performance: Assist in achieving and exceeding financial targets Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure that the store complies with health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Inventory Control: Support inventory management, including stock replenishment, stock audits, and stocktaking.
  • Problem Solving: Address and resolve operational issues or customer concerns promptly and professionally.

Skills & Experience:

  • Previous retail management experience, ideally in a large retail or superstore environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a group of volunteers.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A customer-focused approach with the ability to create a positive shopping experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and solve problems under pressure.
  • Knowledge of retail operations, stock management, and health and safety standards.
  • A proactive and adaptable attitude with a passion for retail and customer service.

Hours: 37.5 including alternate Saturdays/Sundays and bank holidays
