Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and advice to Managers on HR issues to ensure best practice is implemented
  • Advise managers about informal and formal attendance management
  • procedures, participating in absence meetings where appropriate.
  • Support on various capability investigations, including grievance, disciplinary, and performance procedures.
  • Assist Managers with providing HR information for Tenders and TUPE as and when required
  • Ensure a high-quality standard of work is produced within the HR team in collaboration with the Head of HR.
  • Undertake projects as directed by the Head of HR as and when required
  • Assist the Head of HR and team in the day-to-day operational needs of the HR department
  • Lead and support the organisations’ goal to achieve accreditations such as becoming a Menopause Friendly or Age Friendly organisation.
  • Assist with audits and inspections
  • Deal with various HR queries throughout the organisation
  • Provide advice and play a key role in work task reviews and change processes
  • Use HR/Payroll systems to access, input and compile data 
  • Manage staff relationships, responding to any queries or problems they have along with managing their individual expectations 
  • Monitor, review and update all HR policies ensuring these are in line with current legislation.
  • Support the Head of HR in driving the organisation’s performance and the organisation’s strategic objectives
  • Act as the first point of contact for employees
  • Oversee the L&D of the organisation, working with managers to ensure compliance is met

About you and your skills

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal & written
  • CIPD Level 3-5
  • Proven HR experience
  • Working knowledge of employment law
  • Ability to multitask with excellent administrative skills
  • Knowledge of HR policies & procedures
  • Desire to drive improvements to performance to see outstanding results
  • Emphasis on teamwork with staff and senior management
  • Highly organised
  • Proactive in your approach to work & daily tasks
  • Project management
  • Build effective working relationships
  • Proficient IT skills including HR software and Microsoft Office Suite/Excel
  • Flexible and adaptable working to meet the needs of others

Hours:                      37 hours per week
