Gardening Administrator
Age UK Leicester Shire & Rutland is committed to enhancing the lives of older people by offering vital services that improve their well-being. Our Gardening Service plays a key role in maintaining safe, accessible outdoor spaces, allowing our clients to continue enjoying their gardens.
The Gardening Administrator will be an essential part of our team, ensuring the seamless operation of the gardening service by managing inquiries, scheduling visits effectively, and providing administrative support to the team and staff members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in scheduling gardening appointments and managing the calendar in the most effective and cost-effective way.
- Coordinate with clients to confirm bookings, offer updates, and address inquiries.
- Maintain and update client records and service history.
- Support the Service Coordinator by inspecting gardening equipment arranging repairs where applicable.
- Being the first point of contact for new enquiries, service request and internal queries, via email and telephone communications.
- Assist the gardening team with any additional administrative tasks as and when required, including filing & invoicing
- Input financial data to internal systems for payroll purposes.
Skills :
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) or similar tools.
- Previous administrative experience
- A keen interest in gardening is a plus but not essential.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to handle time-sensitive tasks, meet deadlines, and stay on top of ongoing administrative duties.
- Attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in records, schedules, and communications.
- Able to solve problems quickly with solutions that ensures the operations run smoothly.
- Ability to multitask without sacrificing quality or efficiency.
- Having strong interpersonal skills for handling client inquiries, complaints.
- Familiarity with office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace) and other relevant systems or databases.
- Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
- Work as a team collaborating well with colleagues and other departments to achieve organisational goals.

Contract: Fixed term 1 April – 30 September 2025 20 hours per week
Salary: £13.09 per hour
