We are recruiting and have a rewarding job role for an experienced Finance Supervisor to join our team. You will play a crucial role in supporting our mission by overseeing several financial aspects within the finance team. Your expertise in financial planning, cost control, and financial management will be instrumental in ensuring the organisation's financial health and sustainability.

We are recruiting for a rewarding position as an experienced Finance Supervisor to join our team. In this crucial role, you will support our mission by overseeing various financial functions within the finance team. Your role will contribute not only to the finance department but also to the wider organisation to ensure it’s financial health and sustainability.

Duties:

Team Support:

  • Supervise and support a small finance team (optional 2 direct reports, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations in conjunction with the Financial Controller.
  • Delegate tasks to ensure smooth sales ledger and retail finance operations. Some delegation with other finance functions.

Sales Ledger:

  • Oversee sales ledger, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing.
  • Maintain and update debtor’s schedule.
  • Manage income inputs, including bank receipts and direct debit collections.
  • Reconcile invoicing for all departments periodically

Retail Accounting:

  • Point of contact for Retail finance queries and duties.
  • Prepare operational reports on retail activities.
  • Conduct regular Finance and Gift Aid shop audits.
  • Submit quarterly recycling credits and Gift Aid claims.

Reporting and Reconciliation:

  • Prepare monthly sales reports and assist in month-end reporting.
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure accurate financial data transfer.
  • Reconcile petty cash and till returns periodically.
  • Update and reconcile cashflow regularly.

Systems and Projects:

  • Assist in developing and maintaining IT systems for Finance, Retail & Homecare.
  • Lead and participate in ad hoc financial and retail projects.
  • Manage the finance payment portal for retail systems.
  • Train staff on financial and retail systems.

Skills:

  • Experience in a finance supervisory or managerial role
  • Strong IT skills (specifically Excel and proficiency in finance-related software and systems.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritises effectively
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving s
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
  • Proactive and adaptable approach to work.
  • Proven track record of process improvements or implementing changes

Please note that this role includes:

  • Study support (if desired) towards an accounting qualification
  • Hybrid working (1 day remote a week)
