In response to concerns regarding cost-of-living increases, energy price rises and the number of devastating scams, Age UK Lancashire staff are hosting a ‘Safe, Warm and Well’ event on Wednesday 11th October at Longholme Methodist Church from 11am to 2pm.
Anne Oliver, Community Engagement Manager at Age UK Lancashire says:
“Everyone is concerned by the increases in fuel bills and the cost of living in general; in addition, someone falls victim to a scam every 11 seconds in the UK and the consequences are often damaging both financially and emotionally. To help raise awareness of the issues and the support available, Age UK Lancashire has joined forces with Rossendale Borough Council to bring local services and expertise under one roof. These include our own Scams Awareness and Digital Inclusion Teams, Fire and Rescue Service, Social Prescribers, Dementia Support and health professionals will be on hand to provide mini health checks.”
A cold buffet and hot drinks will be provided between 12.00 and 1.30pm so please drop in for a chat, learn more about all the help available and share information of the event with your family and friends.
If you are unable to attend the event please visit www.ageuklancs.org.uk to learn more about the services available and support we can give.
