Age UK Lancashire has recently secured additional funding from The National Lottery Community Fund through the Community Organisations Cost of Living Fund.
This funding, totalling £43,112, will be used to sustain and enhance our essential customer service and helpline dedicated to older adults and their carers in Lancashire.
The allocated funds will help aid older people struggling with the challenges posed by the current cost of living crisis. A significant portion of the calls received by our Helpline are financial or housing concerns, and our team of experts are committed to providing support.
Teri Stephenson, CEO, said.
“The Helpline stands as a crucial service, offering free support and guidance to numerous older individuals, many of whom find themselves in challenging situations, whether related to their health, finances, or often a combination of both.
Thank you to The National Lottery Community Fund, this funding willl enable us to sustain our essential helpline service and work towards our vision ‘until everyone is living their best later life’.”
Our helpline can support you with a range of issues which may be about claiming benefits, housing, health and care issues or local services. In 2022/2023, our helpline received over 34,000 calls from older people needing our support and advice.
