Information and Scams Awareness Day

In response to the ongoing cost-of-living increases, the rise in energy price and the increasing number of targeted scams, Age UK Lancashire are hosting a ‘Safe, Warm and Well’ information event at Haslingden Community Links on Tuesday 31st January 2023.
Age UK Lancashire will be partnering with several local organisations including Alzheimer’s Society, Victim Support, Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, Carerslink, The HARRI health and wellbeing bus and Lancashire County Council’s Safe Trader and Trading Standards Teams to bring a wide range of expertise under one roof.
Anne Oliver, Community Engagement Manager at Age UK Lancashire, said:
“We are delighted to be able to put this event on for the local community of Haslingden. We know there is concern from older adults regarding the increase in energy bills, the cost-of-living and we, in partnership with other organisations in Lancashire, want to help. The event would not be possible without Rossendale Borough Council and so a thank you to them for sponsoring the event.
At Age UK Lancashire we are committed to supporting the community and we look forward to welcoming people to our ‘Safe, Warm and Well’ information event.”
Those attending the event will receive free advice on scams, a free health check, advice on the cost-of-living crisis, support on fitting a smoke and fire alarm and much more. Refreshments will be available for people who attend.
