Great Christmas Get Together 2019
Published on 13 December 2019 11:19 AM
On Wednesday 11th December, we hosted our annual Christmas and awards event held at Chorley Town Hall. We had a great turnout and enjoyed a day of celebrating our success and coming together as a charity.

Claire Hamilton is head of Vincents' Chorley office and, along with colleagues from across the business, is a keen supporter of the charity.
She said: “What an honour it was to be a part of such a fantastic event. The staff and volunteers at Age UK Lancashire are a wonderful group of people who are committed to helping make other people’s lives better and happier.
"It was a truly delightful afternoon celebrating the achievements of the charity and the hard work these wonderful people do day-in-and-day-out and I’m sure everyone would join me in saying thank you and well done to those who were commended and indeed the whole Age UK Lancashire team."

We took the opportunity to show case our new film and the addition of guest speakers Dave Cottrell from Mindset by Dave and author Wendy Mitchell was very inspiring and our review of the year made us feel proud of the impact we have given to older people in Lancashire.
Teri Stephenson, Chief Executive, said: “We are grateful to our guest speakers who inspired and informed us all, especially as they gave their time voluntarily at such a busy time of year”.

In the afternoon, we hosted an awards ceremony to show thanks to those who have gone the extra mile throughout the year to support the charity. People we also encouraged to wear Christmas outfits and take part in the raffle, with prizes donated from Asda stores in Clayton Brook and Accrington.
Teri added: It’s a privilege to be able to take some time out of everyone’s busy work schedules to recognise and celebrate the excellent work that we do and the extra mile that our staff & volunteers go to every day to benefit older people across Lancashire”.
