Fashion Show Success

Published on 18 October 2021 03:31 PM

We are delighted to share with you the success of our recent “Fashion Show” fundraising event that took place on Thursday 14th October. Guests from across Lancashire were in attendance, and it was in fact our first major public event since the Bamber Bridge shop opening in March 2020.

The event was hosted at the stunning Mytton Fold Hotel and we welcomed over 100 excited shoppers. Our event also saw 10 local businesses set up stalls around the venue for guests to browse to their hearts content.

Sharon Watson from Age UK Lancashire said: “The event was incredible and the turnout we had was really impressive. We were delighted that people were able to get out and join us, and we really want to thank everyone for really getting involved and engaging with the event.”

The evening certainly had an exciting agenda as guests were treated to a raffle, a catwalk show, the opportunity to kick start their Christmas shopping with lovely gifts from local retailers, even the chance to enjoy up to 75% off high street brands for those spicing up their wardrobe this winter.

Our fashion show was clearly a night to remember as all of you who attended were keen to head over to social media and share pictures from the night.

One guest who attended our fashion show said: “It really is a good feeling to be able to get together with friends and family again and enjoy events like this. Just seeing groups of people together smiling and enjoying themselves is really warming, it’s what events like this are all about as well as supporting the incredible work Age UK Lancashire are doing for older people across Lancashire”

Some stalls even ran out of what they were selling before the event had finished. Sharon Watson from Age UK Lancashire said: “It was a really great opportunity for local businesses to get involved as they that are often not included in events like this, so for us to support them and provide a space to showcase their products is really important”.

We are extremely thankful for the support we have received at the event and we’re delighted to announce that we managed to raise over £1200, a fantastic effort!

We can’t wait to get our variety of upcoming events underway, such as: Sleep Out 21 fundraiser on Friday 19th November in Clitheroe, where participants will raise sponsorship and spend a night under the stars as part of the winter warmth campaign and an afternoon tea fundraising event in Lytham where you can enjoy a delicious selection of tea, cakes and sandwiches!

Places are available to book on both events now.
