Charity Shop Volunteering
Working as a Charity Shop Volunteer is a fantastic way to get some retail experience under your belt, all whilst knowing you are contributing to your local community.
All profits from the shop go back into our services, and are used to top our Welfare Fund which helps to support older people experiencing financial difficulties.
Age UK Kent Rivers have been operating a popular charity shop in the heart of Gillingham on Skinner Street for over 20 years, all thanks to our fantastic staff and volunteers.
There's a reason our customers describe the shop as 'Aladdin's Cave', and, as Shop Manager Jo says: "once you're inside, we've got you!" because it really is impossible to leave without a treasure of some sort.
However, we wouldn't be able to continue to provide great value and quality items without the dedication of our volunteers, who help with everything from;
- Sorting out donations as they come into the store
- Pricing items
- Putting new new items onto the shelves
- Operating the tills
- Assisting customers that may require assistance.
