Want to get out for a social lunch, or need help with shopping and cooking? We can help you to find free community warm spaces and affordable lunch clubs. We can also help you to find services that you pay for - meal delivery services and local shopping delivery services. We can also support you to set up your first online shop.

Social lunch club

We can provide you with details of afforable lunch clubs in Islington. These are available in community centres around the borough. They usually provide a cooked, hot meal and the opportunity to meet other local people. Over the colder months there are also many community warm spaces that are available that often provide refreshments and sometimes food.

Finding it difficult to get to the shops? If you have access to a smartphone, tablet or pc, we can arrange for help to set-up your first online shop from one of the big supermarkets to have your groceries delivered to your home (you would need to pay a delivery charge). We can also let you know about delivery options from local shops and meal delivery services that you can pay for.

Affording food

There are a network of Food Banks around Islington that can help if you are struggling to afford food. If you are struggling financially, Age UK Islington can help connect you to a benefit check and other sources of support - contact our helpline on 020 7281 6018. Many of the Food Banks also provide Food Co-ops or Pop-Up Stores which can help you save money on your weekly shop.
