Better Club Games 2023

Better are looking for people aged 60+ to represent Islington at the Better Club Games 2023.  The event will take place at the Copper Box Arena on Tuesday 26^th September, starting from 9.30am (at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London E20 3HB)

This will be an opportunity to compete against other London Boroughs.  Sports include badminton, darts, dominoes, short mat bowls, short tennis, table tennis, timed cycle and timed swim. If you are interested in taking part, please contact Mikael.Kiviniemi@gll.org.  The entry fee is £4 per person, a team t-shirt will be provided for each participant.

Better Club Games – Walking Football Tournament

Better are looking for players aged 60+ to represent Team Islington at a walking football tournament on Friday 22^nd September 9.30am-3pm. The event will take place at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre.   This will be the chance to play against a variety of teams from different London Boroughs.  If you are interested in taking part, please contact Mikael.Kiviniemi@gll.org .  The entry fee is £4 per person, a team t-shirt will be provided for each player. 

Free Swimming Lessons

Ironmonger Row Baths and Highbury Leisure Centre are offering free swimming lessons for Islington residents aged 60 and over. Sessions are available from September 2023 and are run in partnership with Islington Council. To book a block of 6 weekly lessons, please contact Katy.Summers@gll.org or speak to a member of staff at a participating centre.
