Carers Wellbeing Day 2022

Carers Wellbeing Day 2022

Published on 27 November 2022 10:24 AM

Islington carers gathered together for a Carers Wellbeing Day hosted by Islington Carers Hub on Carers Rights Day, Thursday, 24 November. The focus was to provide a day of “Calm, Wellbeing and Friendship” for Islington carers.

Islington unpaid carers took a breather from caring, to hear talks from NHS teams to help 'Get the Most from The Healthcare System' and took part in a Wellbeing Session in the afternoon, with DIY Hand Massage and Meditation.

Carers chatted to local organisations providing information about cost of living support, dementia activities, employment and training opportunities There was lots of opportunity to talk to other carers over a free lunch.

"I'm extremely grateful.  It has been a life saver for me and my family."

"Thanks for the whole event, it has been of great help and information."

"All the talks and information were very good, well explained and useful.  The information on carers with information looking after themselves - excellent."

One of the staff from Islington Carers Hub welcomed me at the door and gave me the chance to talk. It was nice to meet the team in person. I really appreciate their patience.."

"The Day gave me Hope!"
