Keeping active with Arsenal!

Age UK Islington was delighted to be able to offer our clients the opportunity to take part in one of the free history walks combined with a stadium tour provided by Arsenal in the Community.
Samir Singh from Arsenal gave a history of the 'village' of Highbury and its development from Roman times to the present day. The walk finished with a tour of Emirates Stadium and a chance to see behind the scenes.
Husband and wife Frances and Terence went on the walk and tour. They said "Samir was very knowledgeable. He really knew his stuff! It started off at Highbury Corner and he told us about the history of all the buildings on the way." Apparently Terence has been an Arsenal fan all his life. As an added bonus, it was his birthday on the day!
Gerald who went along, said it was "Absolutely Brilliant!".
There was lots of other very positive feedback:
I enjoyed the tour very much I couldn't describe with a simple word. I like to say again "Thank you all''.
"For a long long time I have never been to a tour like that and never tried to mix with Community after I became a single. This tour gave me something to think about for the rest of my life. I was losing faith in the community and its people that was proven wrong, all credit goes to you and your team."
Would you like to take part on the next walk & tour?
We have been very lucky to secure another date for a further tour on Friday 30 September. Places get booked up very quickly, but do let us know if you'd like to attend. Find more information and details of how to book on our webpage.
