Terms and Conditions

The Support Package

1. The minimum support block is 6 consecutive weeks, with each session lasting a minimum of 1 hour. Support can be booked for longer session and charged additionally for the hours.
2. 
The cost for the six-week package starts at £175, which includes a one-off assessment fee. This fee covers a 6 week package of 1 hour sessions per week.
3. 
After the initial support package, ongoing support can be booked as needed. Charges apply for any additional time you book.

This support is provided as part of the Just About You Home Help Service provided by Age UK Isle of Wight. 

Support Worker Responsibilities

1. During the booked hours, you may assign your support worker various tasks around your home. For instance, if gardening cannot be completed due to poor weather, your support worker can assist with other tasks that are listed within our service handbook. 
2. Support workers are equipped to provide light gardening assistance to help maintain your garden and keep it tidy to your standards. However, we do not offer heavy-duty landscaping or tree surgery services. 

Empowering Independence

1. Age UK Isle of Wight is dedicated to empowering individuals to remain independent at home. We provide support to help clients achieve their desired outcomes, whether that involves working alongside them or completing tasks on their behalf, based on their preferences. 

Work Refusal and Safety

1. Support workers have the right to decline any task if they feel it poses a risk or is unreasonable. They must report this to the co-ordination team.
2. If a situation arises that causes distress or discomfort, the support worker may leave the property. You may still be billed for this time, at the discretion of the Just About You service management team. 

Client Responsibilities

1. Clients are responsible for providing all necessary equipment, plants, seeds, and other items required for gardening and outdoor tasks. It is essential to ensure that all equipment is in working order. 
2. Age UK Isle of Wight does not provide a clearance or tipping service for garden waste. Clients must dispose of their garden waste independently. Support workers can assist with placing waste in client bins for collection, but they are not required to use their vehicles for waste disposal. 

Outdoor Services Offered

1. Outdoor work may include, but is not limited to: 
         Cleaning exterior windows (ground level only) 
         Assisting with power washing patios. 
         General maintenance of your home’s exterior. 
Please note that support workers cannot use ladders. 

Gardening Maintenance Services

1. The charity offers grass and gardening maintenance services, including: 
        Lawn mowing 
        Watering plants 
        Potting plants 
        General garden upkeep (weeding, etc.) 

2. Our services do not include landscaping projects, tree work, heavy-duty equipment use, brickwork, or structural work.  

Support for Shopping

1. Support includes assistance shopping for plants and garden equipment, whether online or through an organised trip to a gardening store. Our support workers can also shop on your behalf. All support workers are DBS checked for your peace of mind. 
2. You must provide your support worker with funds to make purchases on your behalf. Our support workers cannot purchase items with their own money and make a claim back.
