Three women running

We are looking for Fundraising Champions among our Island businesses and organisations to come onboard and raise funds on our behalf, with our full support.  This could involve organising quizzes, coffee mornings, cake sales, or another type of charity event benefiting Age UK IW.

What are the benefits of partnering with Age UK Isle of Wight?

A partnership with us could be beneficial for your business by helping you meet your corporate social responsibility objectives. It's a great way to motivate employees, gain insight into the over-50s market, get some great PR and help Age UK Isle of Wight to support vulnerable people in the local community.

Contact our Fundraising Department on (01983) 525282 or email: fundraising@ageukiw.org.uk for more information.

How can we get involved?

There are a number of ways your organisation can partner with us.

Make Us Your Charity of The Year

Choosing Age UK Isle of Wight as your Business Charity of the Year demonstrates your commitment to supporting the older demographic of the Island, which is projected to comprise nearly 34.5% of the population by 2030*. In return, we will collaborate with you to implement effective strategies for promoting your fundraising initiatives and engaging your employees. This could include joint branding on marketing materials, supported public relations efforts, and opportunities for your team members to participate actively.

As a local charity dedicated to our community, we prioritise building strong partnerships with organisations that share our values. Throughout your year of support, we will be eager to explore various ideas to encourage employee involvement, from volunteering days to educational sessions that raise awareness about the challenges faced by older adults.

*The Isle of Wight Council has projected that by 2030, nearly 34.5% of the Island's population will be over 65.

To make an enquiry or set up and initial conversation, please contact us at fundraising@ageukiw.org.uk or call (01983) 525282.

Get Involved With Our Events

Take Part In Our Events

A little friendly competition in the workplace can be beneficial for business, don’t you think?

Your staff can actively participate in our fundraising events throughout the year, vying to see who can raise the most. Consider incentivising their efforts by matching their fundraising amounts! There are countless ways you can encourage and support your employees to get involved in our initiatives.

Check out our current fundraising events and campaigns here.

Sponsor An Event

You could become an event sponsor to cover costs such as food and decorations in exchange for excellent PR and local media exposure.

We understand that hosting events incurs expenses, and without them, it can be challenging for our charity to connect with new donors and fundraisers. Every penny we invest in organising an event reduces the funds available for our charitable activities; such as the Good Neighbour Scheme and our Information and Signposting services.

By sponsoring various aspects of an event (or the whole thing!), your business not only gains a unique promotional opportunity, but also helps us allocate our resources more effectively - ensuring that more funds go directly toward our mission and less toward event and operational costs, which are essential for our functioning.

Have you seen an event we're hosting you would like to support? Or, perhaps you've got an idea of your own? Get in touch today at fundraising@ageukiw.org.uk or call (01983) 525282.

Display a Collection Tin

Could you display a collection tin in your office or shop?

This would help us to collect donations to continue our vital work on the Isle of Wight. Every penny we raise stays on the Island, so every little tin makes a big difference to the older people in our community.

We even have pop up collection boxes, if you fancied hosting an office challenge. A swear jar never hurt anyone!

Email fundraising@ageukiw.org.uk to request a collection box or a set of pop up boxes.

Donate a Raffle Prize or Service

Could you donate a prize for one of our many fundraising raffles and competitions - perhaps a bottle of wine, box of chocolates or biscuits, bath goodies, gift vouchers, or free services?

You can make a donation offer by emailing fundraising@ageukiw.org.uk or calling (01983) 525282. Alternatively, drop in with your donations!

Send Employees to Volunteer

Could you send a team to help out at an event or activity? It's a great way for staff to bond by working together to help vulnerable older people. Previous staff teams have served Christmas lunches, taken older people on days out and even revamped gardens.

Let us know how much time you want to give and any specific goals you want to achieve from the activity. Is it team building or do you want your workforce to learn from the experience.

Start the conversation today and we will be happy to work with you. Email fundraising@ageukiw.org.uk or call (01983) 525282.

Run Your Own Fundraiser

You often see businesses promoting a bake sale, dress down day, a sponsored walk or run, or even a raffle. These can be great ways to add a little fun into the working week, whist raising funds for a local charity. Let us share some fundraising ideas with you by requesting a fundraising pack - there are so many things you could do!

Contact fundraising@ageukiw.org.uk or call us on (01983) 525282.

Let’s be real - a traditional cake sale might not resonate with your plumbing business. We understand that every business is unique, and your fundraising efforts should reflect that individuality.

Our charity has a skilled team with both charity and corporate business experience, ready to assist you in creating impact with your fundraising activities. We’d love to connect and brainstorm ideas that align with your brand and mission while supporting our cause.

Here are some simple yet effective suggestions:

  • Launching a new product? Consider donating a percentage of sales - even as little as 2% or 5% of each sale - to support our charity. This not only makes a difference but can also present a unique PR opportunity for your brand.
  • Get festive! Use your business van to offer a Christmas tree removal service for a set fee, with proceeds going to our charity.
  • Demonstrate your skills by offering your service or handmade items in aid of charity. A special offer, such as £5 haircuts for the day with all proceeds going to charity can generate a real buzz around what you're offering. You might even meet some new customers along the way.

Together, let’s explore creative fundraising strategies that resonate with your business values and mission! Contact us today at fundraising@ageukiw.org.uk or call (01983) 525282.
