Turn Unwanted Gifts into Something Special
Published on 03 January 2025 12:52 PM
As the new year sets in, many of us find ourselves with lovely gifts that just don’t quite fit our style. If you’ve received any new, unused Christmas gifts that you won’t use, we invite you to consider donating them to Age UK Isle of Wight.
By donating these items, you can help us raise unrestricted funds through raffles. These unrestricted funds are crucial for supporting our services that aren’t currently funded by external contracts.
One such service is our Good Neighbour Scheme (GNS), which provides support to isolated and lonely individuals across the Isle of Wight. This service connects volunteers* with those in need, offering companionship and assistance that can make a world of difference in someone’s life.
Additionally, our information phone lines are in high demand, receiving thousands of calls each year. These lines provide information and guidance to older residents, helping them navigate various challenges and access the support they need.
Your generous donations will not only help turn unwanted gifts into prizes that can bring joy to others but will also enable us to continue these important services.
How to Donate:
You can drop off your donations at...

Please note: this is not the Age UK charity shop on Pyle Street. The charity shops are perfect for used items and when you're having a good clear out!
If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at: 01983 525282.
Thank you for your kindness and support as we work together to make a positive impact in our community.
*Using volunteers means we can reduce the cost of this service, but there are administration and DBS fees that that charity need to cover to ensure the safe and smooth running of the GNS.
