Age UK Isle of Wight Launches New Trustee Recruitment Drive

Age UK Isle of Wight, an independent island charity dedicated to enhancing the lives of older residents, is excited to announce the launch of its new Trustee opportunities. The charity invites individuals from all walks of life to join them in shaping the charity's future and ensuring the delivery of essential services to the older population on the Island.


Age UK Isle of Wight hold a strong believe in the power of diverse perspectives and skills to drive positive change. The role of a Trustee at Age UK Isle of Wight is not limited to the older population and the retired; it is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference for all ages and backgrounds.


Some of Age UK Isle of Wight’s current Trustees have shared their experiences, highlighting the personal and professional growth they have experienced by being part of our dedicated team.


One Trustee expressed, "Caring for an older relative illustrated some of the challenges individuals face in ageing; as a result, I hope to use my skills and abilities to contribute to the development of services and to help improve the quality of life of older residents."


Another Trustee shared, "It's great to still be using my professional skills to support such an important cause. I have got to know a very interesting and diverse group of people, and it's keeping my brain active and allowing me to learn new things."


Age UK Isle of Wight has been serving the community for over 50 years, providing essential support and services to older residents. Last year alone (2022-2023 figures), they received an average of 65 new calls a day, totalling 16,500 calls throughout the year. They supported 4,378 individual clients and made 26,995 individual contacts with people through phone calls and face-to-face interactions to support them navigate the challenges and opportunities that come with ageing.
