Volunteer Takes Silver at the Vectis Radio Community Awards

Huge congratulations to Allan!

Age UK Isle of Wight are thrilled to celebrate Allan, one of the charity's outstanding volunteers. With over 8 years of dedicated service, Allan has consistently gone above and beyond to support the Island community and Age UK IW's clients.

During the challenging times of the Covid-19 pandemic, he was a lifeline for many, ensuring vulnerable individuals received their medication when they couldn’t get it themselves.

Currently, Allan provides invaluable admin support in our offices and offers digital assistance through face-to-face sessions, either at clients' homes or during our Digital Drop-In Support at Ryde Library. Plus, he finds time to support some of our Good Neighbour Scheme clients.

He couldn't make the Vectis Radio Community Awards Ceremony at the weekend, so Pat (left), our Volunteer Co-ordinator, presented him his Silver Volunteer of the Year certificate yesterday (03/04/2025).

We’re delighted to announce that this marks the second consecutive year one of our incredible volunteers has been honoured with a Vectis Radio Community Award.

Age UK IW couldn’t be prouder of all our volunteers who make such a difference in our community!
