Dementia and me is a service designed to help enrich the lives of people living with dementia. We run a number of free Memory Cafes in and around Hythe, Folkestone, Lyminge and Ashford to offer a safe and calm environment to meet others living with dementia, share experiences, get information and advice, as well as to help you get out of the house and socialise.
We also offer a range of peer support groups assisting those that have been newly diagnosed living with young onset Dementia and for family and carers.
Who can join?
The memory cafes are open to anybody who has an interest in dementia, whether you are personally living with dementia, are a carer or family member, or someone even just wanting to find out more. There will be dementia-friendly and reminiscence activities available as well as information, advice and signposting.
Refreshments will be supplied free of charge.
Please note: If you need personal or physical support, please come to the events with a carer or family member.
When and where do the memory cafés take place?
There are a number of cafés organised around the Hythe, Lyminge and Ashford areas each month. Please take a look at our Dementia events calendar located on our Activities and events page, email the office on admin@ageukhla.org.uk or call 01303 269602 for the latest dates and venues.
