Volunteer for us
Age UK Hythe, Lyminge and Ashford relies on volunteers to help us offer vital services in the local community. Would you like to lend a hand?
Volunteering
Can you make a difference?
Do you like helping others?
Do you have any spare time?
There are a variety of roles and times to volunteer so there really is something for everyone.
Supporting your community for just a couple of hours can make someone’s day.
Roles includes:
- Home meal delivery drivers
- Admin support
- Driving our minibuses
- Assisting with an activity
- Help in the Café
- Kitchen assistant
- Help to organise fundraising events
- And many more opportunities
To find out more or discuss how you could help us please email our volunteer coordinator Sonya vc@ageukhla.org.uk or call us on 01303 269602.

-
Helping in our charity shops
Meet new people, help us raise funds and have fun while volunteering in our shop.
-
Giving information and advice
Could you help us to provide vital information and advice to older people in Hythe, Lyminge and Ashford?
Why volunteer?
Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, learn new skills and support the work we do in the community.
Who can volunteer?
Almost anyone over the age of 18 can be a volunteer. We have a wide range of roles which suit different people and different skills.
All volunteer roles are subject to a criminal record check with some roles also requiring a Disclosure Barring Service check too.
How much time do I need to give?
It depends on the volunteer role you are interested in. Some people give an hour a week, other people do more.
What else you can do to support us
-
Take part in a fundraiser
Could you help us to raise vital funds by taking part in a fundraising event? We have regular events such as sponsored walks, but you could also do your own fundraiser like a cake sale.
-
Get your colleagues involved
Could you talk to your colleagues or your employer about how you can support us? We have lots of ideas for how organisations can get involved, including sponsoring an event, making us Charity of the Year, or donating equipment.
