Published on 22 May 2024 06:55 PM

Are you looking for a rewarding way to give back to your community? Age UK Hythe, Lyminge & Ashford invites you to join our team of dedicated volunteers and make a positive impact in our community. We have a variety of volunteer opportunities available, each offering a unique way to contribute your time and skills. Here's how you can get involved:

Walkers - Hythe

Join our walking groups as a volunteer escort! Every Thursday morning at 10:30 am, we organise two walking groups departing from the hub. Whether you prefer a leisurely 60-minute stroll or a longer hour-and-a-half walk, there's something for everyone. Help our members enjoy the benefits of staying active and socialise along the way.

Vehicle Washers - Hythe

Do you have a few hours to spare each month? We're looking for volunteers to assist with washing our buses. Whether you can drive them to the jetwash or prefer to clean them on-site at our centres, your help ensures our vehicles remain safe and presentable for our members.

Gardeners - Ashford

Put your green thumbs to good use by joining our gardening team! Thanks to a generous grant, we're revamping the Farrow Court Garden and need enthusiastic volunteers to help plan, plant, and maintain the area. Whether you're a seasoned gardener or looking to gain experience, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a visible difference in our community.

Shoppers - Ashford

Are you available to lend a helping hand on an ad hoc basis? We're seeking volunteers to join our standby shoppers list and assist with covering for our regular shoppers when needed. Your support ensures our service users have access to essential groceries and supplies, even when their usual shopper is unavailable.

Volunteering with Age UK Hythe, Lyminge & Ashford offers numerous rewards beyond the satisfaction of giving back. As a volunteer, you'll have the opportunity to:

Make a meaningful difference in the lives of people in your community.

Connect with like-minded individuals and build new friendships.

Gain valuable skills and experience that can enhance your personal and professional development.

Enjoy the sense of fulfilment that comes from helping others and being part of a supportive team.

If you're interested in any of the volunteer opportunities mentioned above, please contact Sonya Knight at vc@ageukhla.org.uk or call 01303 269602. Your involvement can truly make a difference, so why wait? Join us today and be part of something special!
