Age UK Hull and East Yorkshire Shoe Box Christmas Hamper Appeal

Last year we gave out to older people across Hull and East Yorkshire 935 hampers, this year we want to give out over 1000!

This is a big goal but one I am sure we will be able to reach with your support!

These hampers mean so much to people as not only do they bring a smile to the faces of local older people, but also a hamper may be the only gift that a person receives. It may be the only connection they have had with the outside world in some time. That is why this appeal is so important.

The Appeal officially launches on 1st October 2024 and closes on 6th December 2024.

We currently have 10 local drop off points across the regions, these are:

Suggestions of what to include in a wrapped Shoe Box Hamper:

  • Toiletries
  • Tinned food
  • Sweet treats
  • Tea, coffee, hot chocolate
  • Biscuits
  • Chocolates
  • Little gifts such as a diary and pen, Christmas items, mug, gloves, shawl, slippers
  • A Christmas Card or a Christmas Note from yourself

It is helpful if you can also identify on the box if the Shoe Box Hamper is for a male or female.

We accept donations from individuals and also from teams.

Creating a Christmas Shoe Box Hamper is a fun thing for teams in a workplace to do together!
