It is with heartfelt gratitude and sadness that we announce Pam Davies’ departure as Chief Executive Officer of Age UK at Easter. For almost 10 years Pam has played a critical role in the development, growth and success of the organisation during some challenging times.
Peter Duffield, Chair of Age UK Hull Board of Trustees said ‘Pam will be greatly missed by anyone who has ever met or heard of her. Her enthusiasm and commitment to the work of Age UK both here in Hull and nationally has been outstanding. For someone who joined us on a temporary contract for 6 months from the national charity Age UK in 2012, she has steered us through some difficult and challenging times with both the flood in 2013 and the Covid crisis. On behalf of my fellow trustees, staff, volunteers and service users we would like to thank her for all her work, assure her that she will be missed by everyone and wish her every possible success for the future’.
‘Whilst we will be sad to see Pam leave, we are incredibly grateful for the unwavering commitment, passion and enthusiasm that she has dedicated to our organisation to ensure that the services were readily available to those who have needed them the most’.
Fellow trustee Jaynie Mansfield said ’It has been an honour to serve with Pam and she will be greatly missed by the staff, the Board and volunteers alike. We wish her every success and happiness in whatever the future may hold’.
Pam says ‘I have loved my job, working with a fantastic team of staff and volunteers to support older people across Hull and East Riding. It’s been a roller coaster ride running the charity through both amazing and some very tough times over the last 10 years, but I feel very proud to be leaving it in a good place, ready to develop and move in a new direction. I am taking a bit of a break, to move house and decide what my next challenge will be’.
Pam has been involved in Age UK formerly Age Concern since 2006, working for the national charity in various roles across Yorkshire and Humber and North of England before taking up the role of CEO at Age UK Hull.
The search for Pam’s successor is well underway and we hope to be able to make an announcement soon.
