Keeping you safe - Action Fraud

We have been made aware of a couple of telephone scams around the area.

Scam 1: a lady has paid a company/person £1700 for work that hasn’t been completed - to avoid this we advise not to pay any monies up front for anything, run things past your family first, and never give out bank details over the phone.

Scam 2: a call is received stating if you don’t want them to take £39.99 out of your bank account to press 1. Do not press 1. Again, these calls are very convincing.

If you feel like you’ve been victim of something suspicious please gather as much info as possible name of person/company, dial 1471 to get the telephone number they called from and you can report them by calling 0300 123 2040 or online at
