We can provide a volunteer to help with those small tasks you can't manage on your own. FREE service for people 65+ living in the boroughs of Hillingdon and Harrow,

Good Neighbours Service (Hillingdon and Harrow)

If you require occasional/one off practical assistance or support such as learning how to use Information Technology in your home, attend a health appointment, sorting out paperwork, going for short walks or any other practical support that a “good neighbour” would provide, our volunteers can support you.

Simply contact our Community Team and let us know what task you need support with and we will do our best to help. This is very much an ‘as and when needed’ service for those occasional and one off tasks that you may need support with.

Our volunteers will be able to assist with the following:

• Small domestic task/ household help
• Occasional shopping
• Collecting prescriptions
• IT Support and training in the home
• Short walks
• Low level gardening
• Dog walking
• Posting/collecting letters/parcels
• Short-term telephone support to help reconnect/access community services 12-week support

All of our volunteers are DBS checked and our team are happy to discuss any requests you may have.

Social Support (Hillingdon only)

In Hillingdon only we have additional face-to-face or telephone support with a volunteer for up to 6 months.

The criteria for social support is:

• 65 or over
• Lives alone, with no other support
• Housebound
• Or have recently had a major life event such as a bereavement or a significant health event.
