Insight UK rescues our Townfield Community Centre garden

Thank you Gill, Dan, Steve, James, Diana, Emily and Clare from Team Insight for our garden transformation.
In May, a group of Insight staff volunteered to spend their community day at our Townfield Centre in Hayes doing a mini garden rescue. We were only expecting a bit of weeding and a tidy up, however Insight ended up doing more of a garden rescue.
Before Covid-19, the garden was used by staff, volunteers and club members as a place to sit. However the garden had become overgrown, untidy and generally not a nice place to be.
Gill, Dan, Steve, James, Diana, Emily and Clare changed all, leaving us with a welcoming space fit to be used to catch up with the volunteers and services users.
Thank you for your hard work Team Insight!
Before
Look at those weeds! And leaves! Not a good place to enjoy!
Steve was the first on the scene at 7am and most importantly, supplied the coffee!
During
Emily was awarded the "Best with a brush" award by her team mates and spent hours staining the large planters. We hope her blister healed well!
Clare and Diana were relentless with the leaves and weeds filling bag after bag.
Gill did the all important trips to B&Q
James was singled out for praise for being "good at everything!" and don't we all need people like that!
Lunch Break
Dan and Steve ensured everyone was well fed and watered throughout the day.
After
"it was fantastic seeing the space transformed and it felt like the building was coming back to life again after the difficult last year. It has cheered the staff up coming into the office again and seeing the space looked cared for" Dawn Sines, Community Services Manager.
What Next?
Steve will be re-visiting over the coming months to see how the flowers are doing and take more photos.
