Our new Fundraiser introduces herself

I am Wendy Snelling, Age UK Hillingdon, Harrow and Brents new Community Fundraiser. I started with Age UK HHB in August 2019 and my main job will be to raise much needed funds for the charity. 

I was the Corporate Social Responsibility champion at DHL for 5 years and won the CEO achievement award in 2016. I achieved this award for 2 years of raising funds for charities including Dash Women’s Refuge in Slough and the RSPCA in Hillingdon. I also volunteered working in the RSPCA charity shop on Wednesday evenings which was late night shopping day, raising £2,000 and contributing 31.5 hours in this period. 

I  have also worked with Age UK Hillingdon previously in volunteering and fundraising capacities, in which over £4,896.00 was raised through various activities such as:

• A car wash day
• Sample sales
• Donating pack lunches for service user Christmas lights trip
• Paiting the Age UK HHB office
• A Garden Project at Townfield Community Centre
• London Borough of Hillingdon Play Day event

With all my skills of fundraising and volunteering I have learnt over the years, I thought it was time to make a difference within the community to give something back to causes that mean a lot to me.

I have a lot of fundraising ideas to help support and sustain the services we provide at Age UK Hillingdon, Harrow & Brent. Whether it’s a couple of hours or a whole day helping, fundraising is fun, and this is a chance for you to show off your skills or to learn something new.
