David worked in Housing Management for local authorities & Housing Associations for most of his working career.
He wasn’t fully ready to retire so he looked at other options and came across volunteering.

Why did you choose Volunteering for Age UK Hertfordshire?

He saw advert on Age UK National’s website and felt he could use his existing skills giving support so he made an enquiry about volunteering.
After speaking to us, he knew volunteering for the Information & Advice team was the right opportunity for him and that was it!

What’s the best thing about being a volunteer?

There’s a great sense of satisfaction that you have helped individuals to move on with their lives, pointing them in the right direction and referring them onto relevant services but also advising them about the options they have.
It’s lovely to receive feedback from individuals you have helped.
